Bulk Plant Design/Builder
Central Propane Service will work closely with you to provide the right set up for your needs, whether it’s building a new facility or adding storage to an existing facility. We have the experience and knowledge to help you make this an easy task. We take great pride in working on finishing projects in a timely fashion. We use only quality pipe and fittings when piping a project.
Mobile Meter Calibration
Central Propane Service is registered with the State of Michigan with a 100-gallon propane prover and a 100-gallon fuel prover. We can come to your site and do a wellness check on all your propane bobtails, fuel delivery trucks, and propane dispenser units. Central Propane Service can do routine maintenance and repair on most meters as well. We perform routine maintenance and repair on most meters as well as place in service registration with the state.
Mobile V&K Inspections
Central Propane Service will travel to your location! We are a registered cargo tank inspection facility. We perform annual V&K inspections on your bobtails and transport trailers.
Bulk Plant Maintenance
Central Propane Service can repair any portion of your bulk plant operation from a leak in the piping to a complete pump rebuild. We can service any brand of propane pump. We sell and service any of the tank equipment you may have a problem with from the relief valves to the internal valves. Central Propane Service is also an expert at converting cable operated shutdowns to a nitrogen push button shut down for a much cleaner and more efficient operation. Chances are if you have an ongoing problem, we will have the solution for you.
Vaporizer Installation/Repair
Central Propane Service can size your BTU usage to the proper size vaporizer to increase load efficiency. Most manufacturers recommend servicing your vaporizer once a year to prolong the life of the unit. If you are in need of a vaporizer or vaporizer maintenance, give us a call today!
Agriculture Operations
Central Propane Service provides many different services to the agriculture industry. We offer bulk tank installation for crop drying and livestock operations. It is a well-known fact that if you can buy your gas in bulk from a transport you should have a good turnaround on your investment.
Retail Dispenser Builder/Install
Central Propane Service can furnish and install any retail propane dispenser system. We will work with you to design and build any style retail propane dispenser system, such as a bottle fill/rv fill shed to an auto gas system.

About Central Propane Service
In 2017 Dave Colthorp decided to start a new adventure and formed Central Propane Service LLC. With over 25 years in propane maintenance service, it seemed like the only option. Dave has always had a passion for the mechanical challenges that the industry encounters. Over the years he has met and worked with many great people in the industry. He is state-certified and has hands-on training in many different fields such as large industrial pipeline systems that require vaporizers and large regulator systems to basic bulk plant maintenance, engineering, and construction. Webster & Garner
Drummond Island Project - This tank is equipped with a separate transport unloading with 3" piping straight to the tank. We have installed a 3" Blackmer pump for bobtail loading. The plant is equipped with a nitrogen operated emergency shutdown system.
Quality Energy
Cadillac Terminal Project - There are 10- 30,000-gallon tanks on-site, split into 2-5 tank banks. This facility has a rail side unload set-up that is 260' of 4" welded trunkline and can unload 8 railcars without a switch. It has 2-transport loading sites.
Excel Propane
Excel Propane Project - Installed 2 matching 30,000-gallon "stubby" tanks. This plant is equipped with a separate bulkhead for transport unloading and an extra bulkhead and pad for future pump and bobtail load as well as a pump for cylinder and motor fuel dock.
